When I first met Ramona and Volker I liked them from the first moment on. The cozy get-together in some local restaurant close to Stuttgart was about the story of the two, how they got to know each other, what their (and my) dreams are about and, of course, how Volker stopped Ramona’s hand. I was so happy when the two of them told me that they wanted to get me involved in their wedding. Since the two were not very experienced in front of the camera, I offered them to make a small pre-weddding shooting to get a better feeling how to act in front of the camera. Since the two wanted to take their wedding photos in some forest, we met at a small, lonely wooded area. Together we went over the forest roads, left these relatively quickly, because off-road you can usually find the better locations. After some time we met a birch grove, which was ideal for beautiful wedding photos in the forest offered. I associate a certain loneliness with the forest as a wedding shooting location, but also freedom, intimacy, naturalness. Off the beaten track is the adventure and so I was excited about the adventurous nature of the two.
Wedding arrangements are always something special for me. Apart from the wedding party, all the guests and possible distractions, couple pictures are about intimacy and about what connects the two – their love. That’s how it went with Ramona and Volker. In brilliant sunshine we met at the location we were already testing some weeks before to take wedding pictures in the forest. The two were super relaxed and showed no fear of the camera. So I was able to make creative wedding photos and try different ideas. The great hair wreath and bridal bouquet by Ramona were, next to the two as a couple, great motives for this vintage wedding. There were plenty of good spots in the forest and so we had lots of different motives after only one hour.
The couple shooting was an absolute highlight for me on this day. I love to capture emotions and moments. On the other hand, I’m also a huge fan of fashion and street style shoots, where I can shoot great editorials with the model. This shoot was the perfect combination of both.
