The newlyweds, whom I have probably met on most of the weddings I shot are Fernando and Christine. At a wedding in May 2016, we got to know each other and the two spontaneously decided to get me involved starting from the afternoon on their wedding, since they had already booked another photographer for the wedding. Once again this year I was with friends for a little camping holiday on Lake Constance. Again and again I discover something new in this wonderful region and so I am always happy to receive inquiries to accompany wedding in and around the Lake Constance area.
It was definitely a correct decision to slip my shirt on directly at the wedding of Christine and Fernando, because on the way to Lake Constance, I already died due to the heat in my car. At a tight 30 degrees and no cloud in sight, I was allowed to photographically accompany the wedding reception in the Birnauer Oberhof in Überlingen.
Why a full-time companion makes sense
As a wedding photographer, it is always very important to me to be perceived not just as a pure service provider, but rather as a guest, friend, acquaintance. Not only is it more enjoyable for me, it also makes my pictures more authentic, the guests more open and the emotions more real. To get to know the guests better, I always accompany my bridal couples throughout the day. With each hour I spend at the wedding, I get to know the friends and family of the bride and groom better, get into conversation and make new contacts. From quite different perspectives and completely unprepared, I was able to take pictures of different situations at this wedding.
The afternoon was super relaxed with some coffee, amusing games and entertaining conversations during dinner. The Birnauer Oberhof was perfect as a great wedding location, which offered a charming setting for this wedding with a view of Lake Constance and the Cistercian priory monastery.
A very special moment I experienced at the joint bridal shoot. While the others were eating, we took 20 minutes and strolled over to the vineyards which are typical for this area. After some warm-up shots (no, not the shots you might think of), the two had already got used to me and the camera. It was once again wonderful to capture these unique wedding photos on Lake Constance – the two were so relaxed. Christine and Fernando forgot everything around them and so we could create very authentic and loving pictures together. The approaching thunderstorm with light gusts gave the whole thing a dramatic touch and the setting sun provided the right light.
When the rain set in, everyone moved into the beautiful, rural but modern style location. To the amusement of all, the common circle of friends, who existed for Fernando since elementary school, prepared a self-written song. Then there was a musical contribution, a sung poem prepared by Christine’s mother.
Fernando and Christine then rang in the wedding party on Lake Constance with a simple but romantic wedding dance. I attended the party until after midnight and enjoyed the exuberant and special atmosphere that prevailed on that day. You plan your wedding at Lake Constance? Well, then don´t hesitate to contact me, I could love to travel there once again.
