When I first met Tanja and Konstantin and they told me about their wedding, I immediately realized: I definitely want to become a part of their wedding day. Funnily, both come from my hometown Ditzingen. So we met quite simply in a café in Ditzingen to get to know each other personally. The chemistry was right and so it happened that we met on a warm summer weekend on a green orchard somewhere near Heilbronn. It was nice to see how tender and affectionate the two of them were, and so it was not hard to make a variety of authentic couple photos. Of course, a picture with the Chevrolet provided by the groomsman must not be missed. When we had captured enough moments and emotions at the orchard, we set out on the road to the wedding venue. The castle chapel of Guttenberg Castle was surrounded by greenery and can only be reached by foot. On the way to the chapel we made a little dangling into the forest and used the moss-covered ground as a special motif. The pristine environment was perfect for the wedding of the two. Many natural colors and elements such as wood determined the design that moved through the wedding. The fact that the honeymoon consisted of an adventure road trip to Scandinavia did not surprise me anymore.
When we finished the shoot, Konstantin and I went to the chapel, where I took some time to take a few detailed photos of the decoration and the empty church. Slowly the first visitors came in and by 2 pm the time had finally come. The ceremony was very touching and I still remember the very personal and intimate atmosphere. The music was provided by the brothers of Constantine, who also performed some other songs during the rest of the wedding day. With much passion and enthusiasm, they also sang well-known hymns during the wedding ceremony and provided a fitting setting for the wedding in a city called Heilbronn. The congratulations took place in the garden of the final party location. I enjoyed the good weather and the relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes I also saw familiar faces from a wedding that I had photographed the year before and through which the contact with Tanja and Konstantin came about.
For dinner there was fresh meat from the grill, coupled with a large salad buffet and a lot of culinary specialties. Around 22 clock the actual right started. Unfortunately, around midnight, the local police paid a visit. As the party location was quite central some residents felt disturbed by the music.
Wedding tip: Take care when selecting your location on the environment. Do people live in the direct neighborhood? Do you need permission for loud music? How long do you want to party? Doing this you can avoid that the music during the party must be turned down or even off.
Tanja and Konstantin did not let the unexpected visit ruin their spirits and so they continued with quieter music. Especially the hard core, the closest friends of the bride and groom (including the super cool pastor), stayed a long time at the party and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. My job was done roughly around 1 am. 4 weeks later I met the two again in Ditzingen and even 1 year after the wedding Konstantin crossed my path in the cafeteria of my university as he was doing some job in the university. I´m super happy such a personal connection grew between these two and me.
